Biology

In this hands-on, lab-based NGSS Biology course, you will explore biological concepts that build comprehension around two driving questions: 

  1. What connections exist between the living and nonliving components of our changing Earth? 
  2. How and in what ways do organisms, including humans, depend on and impact the environment? 

​Units:
The course offers a comprehensive, standards-based program of study.  Particular emphasis will be placed on the following overarching topics:
  • Unit 0: Intro to Scientific Practices
  • Unit 1: Climate Change & The Atmosphere
  • Unit 2: Ecosystems & Energy
  • Unit 3: Evolution 
  • Unit 4: Molecules to Organisms
  • Unit 5: Molecular Genetics & Inheritance
  • Unit 6: Population Genetics & Inheritance
  • Unit 7: Climate Change 2.0
