Exams
Please notify Ms. Thomas of any accommodations or modifications in advance of any assessment so that I can best support your learning.
Midterm:
Midterms will happen once a semester and are not cumulative. Midterms will be formatted like the IB exam in order to prepare you for the style and types of questions that will be asked.
Once graded, your raw score will be weighted according to IB grade boundaries and entered into the Formal Assessment category in the gradebook.
Exams:
Exams happen once a semester and will consist of a modified IB exam (Papers 1, 2, and 3). This will be cumulative of all subject matter learned so far from Year 1 and Year 2. As with the official IB exam, you will be expected to sit for the exam on the day(s) it is administered and there will be no make-ups provided after the fact.
Fall Semester:
The fall exam will consist of Paper 1 and 2. This will take place over multiple class periods and may include portions of Study Week as well as Finals Week. The schedule for the final will be released closer to the end of the semester.
Spring Semester:
The spring exam will be administered in April and will consist of all Papers. Similar to the fall exam, it will be cumulative and take place over multiple class periods. Plan to spend approximately one week of class time on this exam. The schedule for this final will be released as early as possible to minimize conflict with college and spring break trips.
